Deputy Manager in Hostel Located in Marrakech



Spanish Hostel chain has an opening for the Deputy Manager position for its hostel located in Marrakech.

What are you expected to do:

Assist the general manager with the following tasks:

  • daily monitoring of the evolution of the average price and occupancy
  • Review of the cash register (supervision of the cash closing of each shift, invoices, corrections, credits, etc.) and daily check of the cash count corresponding to the night shift, checking that there are no discrepancies.
  • Check that there are no excess customer balances.
  • Review of availability, expected occupancy and management of overbooking (short, medium and long term).
  • Control of room blockages and review with maintenance and housekeeper.
  • Stock control
  • Follow up with events and group reservations
  • Contact and contract with companies and agencies that may be interested in our services.
  • Monitoring and taking care of online reputation (responding to Tripadvisor, Booking, Google, etc. reviews).
  • Front Office support at check-in and check-out times or when necessary.
  • Dealing with guests complaints
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the work of every department.
  • Train the staff in charge and ensure that all employees meet the service standards in line with the company philosophy;
  • Promote a good working environment by mediating in the resolution of incidents or conflicts between team members;
  • Plan and organize shifts, schedules and vacations for the staff;
  • Supervise that staff complies with uniform and hygiene standards in accordance with TCH and department standards.
  • Comply with The Central House Hostels policies, procedures, instructions and ensure that all required hostel records are kept appropriately to act on your responsibilities as detailed in all current legislation.


Experience and knowledge required

  • Studies in Tourism and/or professional training in tourist accommodation management.
  • Minimum experience of one year in the same position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint…)
  • High level of English is essential
  • French, English & Spanish language knowledge (valued Marrocan)
  • Knowledge of the MEWS programme highly valued
  • Availability to work in Marrakech

Your main duties will be:

We are looking for a Front Desk Manager for our hostel located in the centre of Istanbul, with experience and immediate availability. 

The duties to be performed are as follows:

  • Plan, organise and supervise the reception work.
  • Train the staff in charge to meet the company’s standards
  • Supervise cash closings
  • Daily monitoring of occupancy and average price. Optimise availability, management of overbookings
  • Control of customer overbookings, no shows and products sold
  • Group control and management
  • Monitor and care for online reputation
  • Customer service and complaint resolution
  • Control of room blockages and review with the departments involved
